The Challenge

Sheltered housing needed to improve fire safety across communal areas and individual flats. Routine checks showed that several fire doors were outdated, not closing correctly, or missing essential certification. With residents often elderly or vulnerable, reliable compartmentation and safe evacuation routes were a top priority.

Our SOLUTION

Detailed Fire Door Survey
OD Fire Protection inspected all fire doors, including flat entrance doors, communal lounges, corridors, stairwells, and staff areas, assessing gaps, seals, ironmongery, and closing mechanisms.
Certified Installations & Remedial Works
- Installed fully tested FD30/FD60 doorsets where replacement was necessary.
- Repaired suitable doors by upgrading seals, adjusting closers, and fixing alignment issues to restore full compliance.
Low-Disruption Scheduling
We coordinated with scheme managers to ensure minimal disturbance to residents, carrying out work during quieter periods and ensuring safe access at all times.
Handover Documentation
The housing provider received full certification, compliance reports, and maintenance recommendations to support audits and safety checks.
